The NYC Department of Design and Construction’s Office of Community Outreach and Notification launched a borough-based pilot program to identify innovative ways to strengthen community engagement across the agency’s infrastructure and public building projects. The goal is to elevate the role of Community Construction Liaisons and establish best practices for future outreach citywide.
Johnson & Asberry serves as the Prime Community Liaison Consultant for the Queens pilot. We are advising NYCDDC on creative strategies to inform, engage, and solicit feedback from project stakeholders. This includes implementing new technology into the outreach process, such as interactive materials with QR codes that connect residents directly to project updates and input opportunities.
In addition to overseeing the pilot, J&A is the community liaison for the Pedestrian Ramp Rehabilitation Program, where our team ensures timely notifications to residents, businesses, schools, and community boards. Our experienced liaison manages inquiries and concerns to help minimize disruptions and maintain progress in the field.
