The East Side Coastal Resiliency Project is a major infrastructure initiative jointly funded by the City of New York and the federal government. It is designed to reduce flood risk from coastal storms and sea level rise along Manhattan’s East Side, from East 25th Street to Montgomery Street. Rather than separating the community from the waterfront, the project integrates flood protection into parks and public spaces to enhance access and resilience. Construction began in 2020 and is expected to continue through 2026.
Johnson & Asberry is leading the development and implementation of a diversity outreach plan that aligns with each phase of construction. We are responsible for coordinating engagement between the project team and local stakeholders, ensuring ongoing communication and transparency. Our outreach focuses on connecting with MWBEs, Section 3 businesses, and local residents, especially those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. J&A maintains an active presence in the community, attending and hosting events to keep the public informed and involved throughout the project.
