BPCA North-West Resiliency Project

The Battery Park City Authority is leading the North West Battery Park City Resiliency Project to protect Lower Manhattan’s waterfront from future climate risks, including sea level rise and coastal storm surge. As the Authority’s first Progressive Design Build project, the effort aims to implement flood protection infrastructure while maintaining community access, safety, and quality of life.

Johnson & Asberry serves as the Design Build Community Engagement Manager for the project. We lead all community-facing engagement activities, from planning and facilitating stakeholder meetings to organizing public workshops, managing grassroots outreach, and operating a dedicated public outreach office. Our team ensures that residents, building managers, elected officials, and local organizations remain informed and involved throughout every stage of design and construction. We also maintain a toll free hotline, manage digital outreach across social media and newsletters, and use surveys and direct engagement to gather community feedback.
